Between nightdream and reality: The gleaning route
Via a gathering route to dreams – an erratic route in a defined area, where the find (coincidence) determines the trajectory – I approach residents along the N9. During the route, I ask them about their dreams. The dream is reconstructed through writing and sketching.
During the route, I ask residents to keep a dream logbook so that we can discuss the spaces they dream of in more detail. By asking them about spatial details and experiences, I can reconstruct the spaces step by step.

For Topography of the Night-01-The Nebula City, spatial designer Maxime Vancoillie collects, describes and models a series of nocturnal dream location descriptions, thereby unravelling the architecture in night-time dreams. Her research focuses on the misty city, the area between city and countryside, of which the ribbon development of the N9 is a cross-section.
