Collages from Hoogstraten

What does it mean to live in two places at once? And in what ways could those two places relate to each other? With these questions in mind, Ciel & Maximiliaan went through their photos from Hoogstraten and collected images of Maneuti, the home base of their colleagues in the conservatory. In these collages, they create a single mental space in which both places come together. The images are exercises towards a spatial intervention in one or both places.

Artists-architects Ciel Grommen and Maximiliaan Royakkers are fascinated by the story and role of seasonal workers in our community. As part of PLAN B/Fieldwork, they are exposing the international network of a fruit company with Communicating Vessels. Together, they are working on an installation that marks this exchange both here and in the guest worker's home country.
