Photo report: project performance 'As is my custom'

In 2018, Maite Vanhellemont was a guest at the PLAN B Arts Festival in Bekegem as a member of the OUTLINE collective. During the festival, she stayed with a host family: Noël & Marijke. A special bond developed which, despite their different views on the world, resulted in an ongoing dialogue between them. 

On Thursday 26 August, Maite Vanhellemont shared an interim insight into the personal process surrounding Zoals mij gewoon is (As I am) in the Sint-Amanduskerk in Bekegem.
The past year has been different than expected, which means that Zoals mij gewoon is is still in full development. Even after this project presentation, Maite will continue to work on the final short film and various text and audio fragments.

PROGRAMME

How did the process work? In a short conversation with Maite, you will be immersed in the developments of this multifaceted project.

Before, during and after her research, Maite wrote down her experiences and reflections as a way of reflecting on her process. She poured these into short audio fragments, which can be listened to collectively during the evening.
