Space catalogue
After the gathering route and the dream interviews with the residents, the N9 comes to a halt. The line and the dreams become photographs in inventories, interviews transcribed into scenarios, and spaces organised into catalogues. Carried by the walls and tables of the room where I work. During a previous meeting in that room, it was referred to as a rhizome, 'an out-of-control attempt by the structure-driven architect to get a grip on a structureless reality: that of the night dream'.
The possibilities of the dream material unfold in the space, where everything suddenly seems connected to everything else:
For Topography of the Night-01-The Mist City, spatial designer Maxime Vancoillie collects, describes and models a series of nocturnal dream location descriptions, thereby unravelling the architecture of night-time dreams. Her research focuses on the misty city, the area between city and countryside, of which the ribbon development of the N9 is a cross-section.
