KUNSTENPLATFORM PLAN B

The puzzle expands

The morning rain makes us feel too lazy to get out of the tent, but as soon as we stick our noses outside, we realise that Frank, the person hosting us in his garden, has left a coffee machine and some cups for us under a large parasol in the garden. The day is off to a good start! We are going to visit Dominique and other activists from the area, in an old brick factory, to chat with them and add to our 'puzzle' of the area. They have turned an abandoned factory into a meeting place for artists and activists and welcome initiatives from the villagers. From them, we learn how spaces can be reinterpreted and how local knowledge from the past can be recontextualised to support current activism. We now understand their historical collaboration with the other villagers. And the ways in which they have faced opposition from policymakers in the past, and how much they still have to endure today. On the way home, we go to the Unicorn pub to put up some posters for the event on the 18th and have a beer. They don't seem very happy that the unicorn on the poster is fat, but luckily it's all quickly resolved with a smile.

Inés and Michela use food and our food culture as an artistic medium, thereby questioning our social and physical environment. Equipped with nothing more than a portable oven and some kitchen utensils, they use Stone Soup to spark conversations, with the preparation of a dish serving as a bonding agent.
