Convoy
From 30 August to 1 September 2019, Bruges creative haven Het Entrepot organised a new three-day location festival with the port of Bruges as its source of inspiration and stage: Kunstenfestival KONVOOI. Together with four other young artists and collectives (F.O.T.A., Astrid Collectief, Studio mxmxm, Kolijn Jagersma), PLAN B co-curated the programme. With a strong focus on in situ work, these five artists mapped out an art trail for the port of Bruges through their own artistic projects and an overarching programme.
For KONVOOI, PLAN B and theatre maker Nikolas Lestaeghe (Arts Festival PLAN B 2017) jointly built a grandstand that invited you to view the (port) landscape differently. Nikolas played with the surroundings in audio, a quest for happiness in which he took you to the (unreachable?) other side. Listen to the audio story again here. The platform on the edge of the harbour offered a suggested viewing direction, creating time and space for what is already there.
