Hanne Van Dyck
LECTURE FOR PLANTS: SELF-DEVELOPMENT ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF NATURE
With her video performance Lecture For Plants: Self-Development According to the Law of Nature, Hanne aims to support and optimise the self-development of plants. She does this by combining ancient wisdom with a contemporary Western approach. This visual lecture encourages the viewer in an accessible way to become a better (perhaps even the best?) version of themselves.
BIO
Hanne Van Dyck (born 1985, Belgium) obtained a Master's degree in Liberal Arts at Sint-Lucas Ghent and a Master of Research in Art and Design at Sint-Lucas Antwerp. In her work, Hanne constantly seeks interaction between humans and nature: how do we symbolise and/or appropriate nature? She then translates her fieldwork into a new combination of meanings and an interplay of different media. Her work has been shown at various exhibitions at home and abroad. She has previously been in residence at Queens Collective (Marrakech, MA), Lijang Studio (Hainan, CN), School of Creative Arts (Dublin, IR) and during the Venice Biennale (IT).
