ABSENCE OF MOUNTAINS

A sense of displacement as well as an attempt to make home resides on these flat fields, and what the fields reflect back is an absence of mountains over the horizon. - Miyeon Lee

In her series Absence of Mountains, Miyeon plays with the notion of (an absent) 'home'. As an artist, she lives and works in both Belgium and Korea, which makes 'home' a unique concept for her. Both the memories attached to it and the role that displacement plays in this are translated into her work. For PLAN B, she elaborated on this same theme and created a new series inspired by the colours and landscapes of the village.
