Passing On The Landscape

At the Hart van Haspengouw Landscape Park, artists, local residents and experts are working together on a ‘landscape trail’. This is not a traditional walk, but a route along ‘slow paths’ that showcases the dynamism, complexity and challenges of the landscape park. The Landscape Trail is being created through an artistic and participatory process and is supported by the PLAN B Arts Platform, Trage Wegen vzw and Dear Hunter.

From a temporary ‘studio in the landscape’, they organise explorations, discussions, small-scale activities and thematic ‘map moments’ centred on topics such as cartopology, slow roads, water, local stories and art. Together, they seek out landscape landmarks, compelling stories and inspiring guides.

Once developed, the Landscape Trail will serve as a living portrait of the landscape park: the landscape’s unique character unfolds along the way and is gradually ‘passed on’ to visitors.
