Today: new calendar of the old mining basin
Today: New Calendar of the Old Mining Basin is a calendar that collects existing and new commemorative days from the former Limburg mining area. It is the result of a two-year project in which Martha Balthazar and Vivi Focquet were given a guided tour of the Limburg mining region. Fascinated by the shared memory of the region, and in particular by the question of how this memory is created and who can and cannot contribute to it, they began their conversations with the opening question: 'What or who should be remembered here?'. All these conversations resulted in this calendar, designed and illustrated by Carole De Buck. It is a collective proposal for a new, more open and supported culture of remembrance. There are still blank days, so additions and adjustments are always possible.
The calendar is available free of charge, with any shipping costs to be paid by the recipient. Interested? Send an email with your address to [email protected].
