AgriValley
On 8 and 9 March 2024, arts platform PLAN B and arts centre VIERNULVIER presented Mirte van Duppen's installation 'AgriValley' at the Vooruit. This was part of the Kiemkracht Festival.
The Netherlands is praised as a leader in technical innovation in agriculture, and 'AgriValley' focuses on questions surrounding automation, production and the boundary between man and machine. The presentation is multimedia-based and adapts to the location, ranging from farms to art centres.
The installation at Kunstencentrum VIERNULVIER showed the publication in which images of agricultural processes are interspersed with contributions from various creators, including poetry, prose and essays. This was combined with a two-screen video installation in which the interaction between the screens emphasises the contrasts and similarities, while scent, light and sound stimulate the viewer's senses and transport them into the sublime landscape created by Van Duppen.
