Jade Kerremans
A series of billboards throughout Bekegem; white canvases, each filled in by a different artist. These billboards were placed one month before the actual festival weekend and thus also served as an announcement.
With her billboard, Jade sought to capture art in the village in an iconic image. In it, she refers to the romantic painters who, at the time, sought out the open meadows with their canvases and palettes. As a contemporary plein air painter/designer, she integrated her billboard into the village.
BIO
Jade Kerremans (born 1994, Belgium) graduated with a Master's degree in Graphic Design from KASK Ghent. Her Master's project, HENK, best reflects her practice. In this installation, an ordinary man with an ordinary life sits in a seemingly two-dimensional world. In her drawings, Jade reduces reality to the basics of a line and a minimum of colour. Building on recognisability and everyday life, humour adds colour to the refined drawings.
